Failures II: A Roadmap to Recovery

This is a meeting you are not going to want to miss.

posted -- June 11, 2010

Next year's Symposium will be held from January 17-22nd, 2011 at the Ritz-Carlton in Key Biscayne, FL. There are still a few rooms left, but they are going fast. You can reserve yours by calling the Ritz directly at 800.241.3333.

This is a meeting you are not going to want to miss. Attendees will hear from many of dentistry's greats; Gerard Chiche, Stephen Chu, Sillas Duarte, David Garber, Galip Gurel, Sascha Jovanovic, Sonia Leziy, Brahm Miller, Bob Margeas, Ricardo Mitrani, Nido Qubein, Ariel Raigrodski, Avishai Sadan, Maurice Salama, Dennis Tarnow, John West and Homa Zadeh. There will also be a special appearance of Dr. Vince Kokich Sr. with his son Dr. Vince Kokich Jr.

The theme for the 2011 meeting is "Failures II: A Roadmap to Recovery." Treatment that falls short of expectation is often a subject that receives a superficial analysis, as few clinicians are truly prepared to deal with it. The focus of this meeting will be on how and why success has occasionally eluded even our most talented clinicians despite their most gallant and creative efforts. Our educational objective for this lecture and workshop-based program is to gain deeper insight into how and why failures in treatment occur, to explore what lessons can be learned and preventative measures that might be taken and to understand more fully the clinical, emotional and legal implications. Those in attendance will gain more confidence in confronting failure and will more effectively negotiate the road to recovery.

Our 2010 Symposium in Scottsdale, Arizona

posted -- March 24, 2010

Our 2010 Symposium in Scottsdale, Arizona was a great success! Symposium attendees received high quality CE and had many opportunities to network with fellow SSC members from all over the world. We came together for daily sessions with brilliant speakers coupled with high energy live performances each evening. We featured entertainers like Country music singer-songwriter; Eric Durance, pop-rock singer and pianist; Jon McLaughlin and SSC favorites; The Coats and comedian Buzz Sutherland.

Following is a brief write up of each evening's entertainment along with the entertainers' websites. For those of you who didn't have a chance to purchase CDs or for more information on them please use the link provided. If you have further entertainment questions please email Lisa Nicon at lisa@seattlestudyclub.com.

The Coats ~ www.thecoats.net

This talented a cappella group performed Monday morning during opening ceremonies, combining comedy and incredible sound to help kick off the week. Their performance included songs like Come Together by the Beatles and the Johnny Nash song; I Can See Clearly Now.

Eric Durrance ~ www.ericdurrance.com

This multi talented, self-taught singer-songwriter set the mood with his Country music and southern charm outside of the beautiful Jokaki Inn while we enjoyed great food and camaraderie under the Sonoran Sky at our welcome reception.

Jon McLaughlin ~ www.islandrecords.com/site/artist_home.php?artist_id=596

SSC's new favorite was our Tuesday night "cafe" singer and pianist, Joh McLaughlin and band. Giving a show stopping performance while whaling on the piano keys and pouring his soul out with heart filled lyrics, Jon McLaughlin and his band put on a marvelous show and had everyone on their feet all evening long.

Blind Boys of Alabama ~ www.blndboys.com

The Blind Boys of Alabama were an experience like no other. Their amazing story and incredible sound made for a truly special event at Wednesday night's "cafe." Their sweet mixture of gospel and Alabama blues was a real treat.
